The Homestead

We are very happy to be able to offer the Homestead at Glendhu Station as on site accommodation with your event booking. We have had wonderful success accommodating wedding guests this summer season. Based on their positive feedback we have decided to continue.

The front lounge of the Homestead was originally the post office and general store built at the same time as the Woolshed in 1894. This served those working on the original Wanaka Station Run which at that time included, Alpha Burn Station, West Wanaka Station and what is now Glendhu Station.

Since its original beginnings, it has been extended over the years to accommodate the Scaife Family and also the four generations of the McRae family.

The house includes four bedrooms with Queen beds, large bunk room and play area, two bathrooms, a formal dining and lounge, TV room, large kitchen and informal dining, decks and BBQ area, and mature gardens all within two minute walking distance to the Woolshed.  Linen and cleaning is included in the package and  we know that you or your family or guests will be more than comfortable.

The homestead is available to you for three night minimum stays which means couples can plan and stay on site taking complete advantage of our facilities and surrounding activities at Glendhu Bay. There is a public boat ramp immediately opposite the house should you wish to bring a boat. There is plenty of parking outside the homestead for vehicles. Many providers for hair and makeup will come to you which means a bridal or wedding  party can relax the morning of their day enjoying the rituals of getting ready in the beautiful surrounds of the Station.
