The Cottage
We wouldn’t want anyone to miss out on experiencing Glendhu Station for themselves. That’s why we’ve carefully curated accommodation options to suit different events: picturesque weddings, corporate functions or peaceful holiday escapes.
There is one thing they all have in common - home comfort in the midst of natural Aotearoa beauty.
The Homestead
Our Homestead - with history embedded into its walls, it’s the perfect place for you to add your chapter to the story.
Originally a post office and general store back in 1894, we’ve transformed this space to welcome guests to enjoy its rich heritage.
-
Ideal for families, friends or a small group who want to make the most of their holiday home, our Homestead sleeps up to 8 people across 4 spacious bedrooms. Along with two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and laundry, all of your needs are guaranteed to be catered for.
-
Whilst you could easily while away the days of your holiday within our Homestead's four walls, we wouldn’t blame you for getting out and exploring all that Glendhu Bay has to offer.
A mere stone’s throw away, Bike Glendhu offers bike trails suitable for all levels for a day of adventure, with Velo Cafe on site for a caffeine boost in between laps (the pastries don’t hurt either!) Stay 2 nights or more between Mondays and Thursdays to receive complimentary vouchers too!
Winter visitors are blessed with the magnificent Treble Cone and Cadrona ski fields on our doorstep - that’s less time travelling and more time hitting the slopes.
If the lake calls your name, we’re right by the public boat ramp for afternoons spent on the open water.
-
Whilst we’ve endeavoured to keep as much historical charm as possible within our Homestead, we couldn’t help but incorporate a few modern features to enhance your stay further!
Enjoy a heat pump for year-round comfort, entertainment courtesy of Sky TV, and large windows to invite the outside in.
In the warmer evenings, you can open the French doors wide to set the stage for the ultimate al fresco dinners, made better with Central Otago as your backdrop.
Relax at your leisure or let your adventurous spirit soar - every moment at our Homestead is guaranteed to make memories to cherish forever.
Glamping
We want to ensure your next event is one for the history books. That’s why we’ve partnered with Explore Life Glamping to help you have a truly unforgettable experience.
Hotel rooms are great, don’t get us wrong. But Explore Life Glamping tents come with all the bells and whistles that give sleeping under the stars a luxurious edge. Each tent has been styled to resemble a 1930s safari look, including leather furniture and queen-size beds. We have 20 tents available that can be positioned around our Woolshed and comfortably accommodate up to 75 guests apiece (it also means no expensive taxi home once the party is over!).
Explore Life can cater beyond events too. A comfortable space for wedding guests to relax, a picnic set up for the day after, or a unique take on a bridal photo shoot. We have plenty of space up on the hill behind the Woolshed that works perfectly for the latter 2 options too!
Email Amy at amy@explorelife.co.nz for any enquiries.
